About the project
TSN is a leading national news portal visited daily by millions of unique users who want to stay up to date with most important events of the country.
The goal
To ensure a comfortable user experience on the site and to improve the editorial tools for content teams.
The solution
We integrated Published! — a platform for creating and managing media websites — into the editorial workflows.
Redesign
The updated interface matches the new technical capabilities. Simplified navigation and an intuitive page structure improved the overall user experience. The design looks lighter now with cleaner spacing, softer image edges, and streamlined header and footer.
These changes had a positive impact on SEO, and the new content interaction flows increased engagement and deeper page views.
Features of Published!
Published! lets the editorial team create and format articles quickly and easily. Editors can add text blocks, insert quotes or media files, organize tags, and manage content structure — all without losing time.
Collaborative editing
Multiple editors can work on the same article at the same time without the risk of losing changes. The platform prevents parallel editing — if one editor has a publication open, others see a warning and cannot edit without confirmation.
This avoids conflicting edits and duplicated work, supporting a controlled and conflict‑free editorial process.
Multilingual support
The website is available in three languages so translating articles no longer requires a separate team. Published! supports manual translation or automatic translation using neural networks and dedicated tools, speeding up publishing and reducing delays.
Embed integrations
Social media posts and video platform content appear directly within the editor, simplifying the work with content.
Videos embed inside articles in autoplay mode, with sound and high quality, and the views are tracked in analytics. This makes content more dynamic and improves the accuracy of statistics.
Tags
TSN publishes hundreds of pieces every day, and each one has tags. Over time, duplicate tags appear, reducing the accuracy of filters. We added a tag‑merging feature to address this.
AI functionality
Published! includes smart image cropping powered by Vision AI
. After uploading an image, the system detects faces, objects, or logos, identifies the main focus, and automatically crops the image for different formats while keeping the important area centered. “Read also”
It’s now easier to select related materials. With one click, the platform analyzes the current content, finds similar or popular articles, and inserts them into the text.
AI prompts
Published! supports the creation of AI prompts that work in any text field: meta title, description, SEO text, or Open Graph.
Editors set the desired style, tone, structure, or other preferences, and the AI generates text and places it in the appropriate fields.
Live
TSN now has a “Live” section — a page for real‑time broadcasts. Videos stream directly from the platform, and editors can quickly publish short updates for viewers following the event.
For example, during a match between Ukraine and Italy, an editor can send a live notification such as: “Goal! Dovbyk opens the score in the match against Italy.” This turns a stream into a live event with updates appearing on users screens in real time.
Configurator
The editorial team now has full control over the homepage and category structure. The Published! configurator lets them edit, add, or hide sections, change menu order, and update category names. This flexibility allows the team to respond quickly to events, adjust the structure for new formats, and keep the site up to date.
Analytics
In a large newsroom, seeing the full picture is important: which content reaches the top, which materials engage readers, and how the team performs. All this data is available directly in Published!
*the data shown is illustrative and not linked to TSN analytics.
Editors can track views, headlines, dates of publication, and engagement trends. Managers can view team statistics: how many pieces each author has published and the total views they have collected.
There are also automated reports that run and send on schedule, and a manual mode to collect statistics for any period or specific task. This helps the team assess content performance, optimize workflow, and understand what truly resonates with the audience.
Content migration
TSN.ua has collected millions of publications and tens of thousands of media files over the past 20 years. When updating the site, it was essential to preserve all of that content.
To ensure the archive worked properly in Published!, we prepared and transferred all materials step by step:
- adapted the files to match the new design
- processed over 200,000 unique images, optimized them, and aligned them with the updated templates
Collaboration with TSN
This relaunch succeeded because the TSN and ideil. teams worked toward the same goal — making the site even more comfortable to use. Editors actively tested the new features, provided fast feedback, and helped adapt the system to their workflows and needs.
