Android-app «Communal Patrol»

We have developed a civic-tech platform that enables residents to report urban issues, mark them on a map and track the progress of their resolution.

The service combines a web platform and a mobile app, creating a simple channel of communication between city residents and the services responsible for urban infrastructure.

Users can report an issue in just a few steps: take a photo of it, add a brief description and submit the report. The location of the incident is determined using geolocation and is automatically marked on the map.

Users’ reports are displayed on the map, allowing users to see issues with the city’s infrastructure and their locations.

This format helps to organise reports and makes information about the issues available not only to the person who submitted the report, but also to other users of the platform.

Reporting an issue from a smartphone

We have developed a mobile app for the service, designed specifically for use within the city.

Upon spotting a problem, a user can immediately take a photo of it, add a description and submit a report. The smartphone’s geolocation helps to automatically determine the location and mark a point on the map.

Tracking the status of a request

Once a report has been created, the user can track its status and see how the resolution of the problem is progressing.

When a report is accepted for processing or the problem is resolved, the user receives a notification on their mobile device.

Engaging the public

Requests could be shared to draw other residents’ attention to a specific issue.

In this way, the platform functioned not only as a system for registering requests, but also as a digital tool for public engagement on urban issues.

Digitisation of urban complaints

As a result, we created a unified digital system that combined a map of urban issues, photos and geolocation, request registration, status tracking and automatic notifications.

The project demonstrates our expertise in developing bespoke web platforms and mobile applications for civic tech and digital services that automate interaction between users and organisations.
