Winter Wonderland at VDNG
Website for the entertainment area at VDNG
‘Winter Country’ is a large family entertainment venue at VDNG in Kyiv, featuring rides, shows, themed areas, food courts and seasonal events.
For ‘Winter Country’, we developed a website that serves as a digital guide to the vast entertainment complex, helping visitors plan their visit even before arriving at VDNG.
On a single website, we brought together information about the attractions, opening hours, events, special offers, a map of the site and the option to purchase tickets.
Digital guide to ‘Winter Country’
The sheer number of attractions and venues called for a simple information structure. Users needed to quickly understand what was happening on site, when individual venues were open, and which events were worth attending.
We structured the content so that key information was accessible with a minimum of steps — particularly when using a smartphone whilst visiting the complex.
Events, entertainment and opening hours
The website features entertainment zones and individual venues, along with information on their opening hours.
A separate section was created for news, upcoming events, shows and promotions, allowing the website to serve as a constantly updated information channel for the seasonal project.
Interactive map of locations
To help visitors navigate the vast grounds of VDNG, we developed a map where they could locate entertainment areas, exhibitions, food zones, the information centre and other facilities.
The map transformed the website from a presentation page into a practical tool that could be used whilst on the ‘Winter Country’ site.
Ticket sales
Users could go directly from the website to purchase tickets via an external ticketing service.
In this way, the journey from discovering the programme and choosing activities to purchasing a ticket was integrated into the overall user experience.
Promotional mechanics for visitors
As part of one of the promotional campaigns, after purchasing a ticket, users could return to the website, fill in a special form and register to take part in a prize draw.
The website thus functioned not only as an information resource but also as a digital tool for conducting marketing activities and engaging with the audience.
Mobile-first experience
We paid particular attention to the mobile version, as a significant proportion of users interact with the site whilst actually visiting the entertainment venue.
The responsive interface allowed users to quickly find the location they were looking for, check opening hours, view the programme or access tickets via their smartphone.
A digital platform for a large entertainment venue
As a result, ‘Winter Country’ received a digital platform that brought together the events programme, information on entertainment, opening hours, a site map, tickets and promotional activities within a single interface.
The project demonstrates our expertise in developing bespoke websites and web platforms for large-scale offline projects, where the digital product must not only showcase the event but also help users interact with it directly on site.
