Mobile App for Forbes Ukraine Media
About the client
Forbes Ukraine is a business media outlet that shapes the country’s business landscape. It covers entrepreneurs, investors, scientists, and creatives who influence the development of Ukraine.
The challenge
The goal was to create a mobile product that expands the media’s digital ecosystem without changing editorial workflows, while opening up new opportunities for monetization and audience communication.

Do you need a mobile app if you already have a website?
Business media audiences live at a fast pace. Content is often consumed between meetings, on the go, or during short breaks throughout the day. In this context, a browser doesn’t always provide a smooth and uninterrupted experience.

For Forbes Ukraine, the app is a tool for developing its monetization system. The core idea is simple: the content and editorial workflows stay the same — only the way users interact with them changes.
Subscription management
The app is integrated into a unified paywall system that connects the website, the print magazine, and the mobile platform.
A user purchases a subscription, logs in once, and receives synchronized access to content on both the website and the app according to their plan. The user manages subscription settings on the platform where it was purchased:
- on the website — via the website
- in the mobile app — via App Store or Google Play accounts
Synchronized access helps prevent the app from becoming an isolated product with a separate audience that would require additional acquisition and retention efforts.
User profile
The app turns the user account into a full interaction hub with the media. Here, users can edit personal data, manage subscriptions, and configure email and personalization settings. Users can update their information on their own.
Account personalization
When setting up a profile, users select their professional interests. Based on this data, push notifications, email newsletters, and content recommendations are formed.

The app includes a built-in player that allows users to listen to AI-generated audio versions of articles in the background. This expands content consumption options, allowing users to choose a convenient format.
Offline access
Users can download saved articles and read them without Wi-Fi. This is especially important for those who are often on the move or experience unstable internet access.
Result
The mobile app became a natural extension of Forbes Ukraine’s digital ecosystem. It strengthens the monetization system, creates a direct communication channel, and expands personalization capabilities.
