When should you develop a standalone iOS app?

Developing a standalone iOS app makes sense when the product is primarily aimed at iPhone and iPad users or requires deep integration with the capabilities of the Apple ecosystem.

In such projects, it’s not just the code that matters. The interface must feel familiar to iPhone users, the app must remain fast and stable, and technical and product decisions must take Apple’s requirements into account even before publication. This reduces the risk of issues during the App Store review process and subsequent updates.

At the same time, not every product requires a separate native app. If a business plans a simultaneous launch on iOS and Android, it is sometimes more sensible to use cross-platform development and maintain a single product for both platforms.
